Cotton Bowl® Stadium

A centerpiece of Fair Park and a designated national historic landmark, the Cotton Bowl® Stadium has hosted world-class events for nearly a century. Widely known as the site of the annual Red River Rivalry between the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma, this iconic venue is a valued symbol of Dallas’ rich sports and entertainment culture. The Cotton Bowl® Stadium is receiving $140 million in upgrades - the largest investment in the history of Fair Park. This restoration is the first project to come out of Proposition A, a funding mechanism using hotel occupancy taxes approved by Dallas voters in 2022.

Slated to be completed by the 2025 State Fair of Texas, the improvements include upgrades to suites and press boxes, an updated facade, widened concourses, expanded concessions and restrooms, and new escalators for improved circulation.

These renovations will ensure that Cotton Bowl® Stadium remains a premier destination for major events, preserving its historic significance while adapting it to modern standards.
