
Evelyn Amaya
Director of Community Engagement
Evelyn is a Dallas resident who has been living in the Jubilee Park neighborhood for over 35 years and brings over 10 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector.
Prior to joining Fair Park First, she served as Council Liaison for Council Member Jesse Moreno in District 2 with the City of Dallas. While in this role she served as community link fostering positive relationships and building trust between the community and the City’s mission. Through facilitating meetings and discussions, she ensured the Council Member was aware of and responsive to the community needs and concerns.
Evelyn also was the Community Outreach Manager for Jubilee Park & Community Center, where through engagement and partnership opportunities enhanced programs such as the Food Pantry to aid in food disparities within the Jubilee Park Community and surrounding zip codes.
She is passionate about advocacy, leadership and giving back to her community. Evelyn has previously served on the Fair Park First Board and is presently serving on the Owenwood Farms Board. She is an active member on different committees at Woodrow Wilson HS and DISD. Evelyn and her family find many opportunities to volunteer, from assisting in food pantries, serving meals with VNA’s Meals on Wheels, to events with the SPED Department at Woodrow.
In her spare time, you will find her cheering on at Football, Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Soccer and Powerlifting events at both Woodrow Wilson and Skyline High School as well as traveling and spending time with family and friends.
